TIRANA, June 2
Germany aims at boosting the economic relations with Albania. President of Germany
Frank-Walter Steinmeier said this to Albanian President Bujar Nishani during the 22nd edition of the International Berlin Meeting. Both interlocutors discussed strengthening of bilateral cooperation, European Union integration and the newest developments in the Western Balkans.
Nishani highlighted that based on the recent reforms undertaken in the country, the EU integration remains the most encouraging mechanism for Albania. President Nishani also informed his counterpart on the progress of reforms, especially the justice reform. Nishani praised the contribution of German experts that helped to draft the reform conforming to the best European standards.
On his part, German President Steinmeier stressed that it is important that German investors find an investment-friendly environment. He said that besides assistance, Germany aims at becoming a trade and investing partner in Albania and other countries of the region.
