TIRANA, December 28
Albania is achieving considerable percent increase in balance sheets regarding international trade with the region’s countries and non-European countries as well. Based on the data on external trade provided by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), Albania increased exports, especially with China.
“In November 2016, the countries with which Albania has had the highest increase in exports, compared to November 2015 are Italy with 12.7 %, Kosovo with 10.1 % and China with 137.8 %,” INSTAT’s report says.
Meanwhile, a decrease in exports was seen with Hungary with -39.7 %, Netherlands with -21.9 % and Iraq with -25.7 %. So far, Italy remains Albania’s major trade partner.
In the meantime, Albania’s imports during November increased with Turkey 2.5%, Greece 12.7% and Germany 0.6% while they decreased with Italy -9.5%, China -14.1% and Serbia -35.1%.
The value of goods exported during November was Lek 23 billion or 17.4% more than in November 2015. Moreover, the value of goods imported was Lek 49 billion or 0.6 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.
