Albanian citizens will finally save money on airline tickets as Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced the new route Budapest-Tirana that will commence on April 5, 2017. Flights are already on sale from just Euro 29.99 and can be booked on wizzair.com.
This was announced by Wizz Air Chief Commercial Officer George Michalopoulos during a press conference held in Tirana. He said that this route along with four others to Skopje, Podgorica, Sarajevo and Pristina will be launched in the frame of the company’s commitment to offering more between European countries.
He added that the company expects that direct flights to Albania will stimulate tourism to the energetic capital of Albania and other destinations such as the country’s extraordinary coastline.
The airline will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays for Albanians and other international citizens that want to travel to Budapest or other destinations as Wizz Air operates routes to 59 destinations. Tirana-Budapest route will help tourism development between both countries.
The new routes will connect the countries directly, boost bi-directional tourism and establish an important link for trade and business between Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
