TIRANA, November 8
The chromium enrichment plant of Librazhd, eastern Albania, started working thanks to an initial investment of Euro 1.2 million by Italian company North Group Mining.
Currently, about 100 people will work in the plant, but this just the first stage. On their part, the representatives of the Italian company have the necessary support by Albanian authorities for continuing their important investment.
A ceremony was held on the occasion and it was attended by Ambassador of Italy to Tirana Alberto Cutillo, president of the Regional Council of Friuli-Venezia Giulia Franco Iacop, Mayor of Librazhd, lawmakers, and other representatives from Albanian and Italian enterprises.
Mayor of the city, Kastriot Gurra said that foreign investments in Albania have increased and Librazhd is one of the areas that benefited from them. It is expected that the chromium enrichment plant will further expand in the future. Meanwhile, the company’s plans for the future include the development of an iron-nickel plant in the city of Perrenjas.
