TIRANA, August 4
As of Thursday, Albanian will pay a tax for the goods that they purchase online, which have a value higher than Euro 22. The decision entered into force after it was published in the Official Gazette. The decision also defines that a tax will be also paid for products send from abroad that have a value higher than Euro 45. The tax will be collected by the Albanian Customs.
On the other hand, the decision was not welcomed by Albanian consumers who seem to have found the right combination of quality and price in online sales. According to the Albanian Post, online sales were highly preferred by individuals, while the value of the products that they buy reaches up to Euro 900. Previously the minimal threshold for online sales was Euro 145.
