TIRANA, July 26
Albanian companies and exporters have expressed their interest in entering the Czech market. Therefore, more support through the Czech banking system was asked for those exporters by Albanian Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti. An Albanian delegation of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture led by Minister Panariti held an official visit to Prague. They held a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Marian Jurecka. Bilateral relations and encouragement for further expansion of trade between both countries were the main focus of discussions.
Minister Panariti highlighted that the Czech Republic can provide its support for approaching the Albanian legislation to the European Union, due to its experience for fulfilling the legal frame concerning the phytosanitary and veterinary agreement. Therefore, both sides agreed to organize a workshop in Tirana in autumn during which experts will identify issues that are going to need Czech support and expertise.
Further on, Panariti asked Minister Jurecka if it will be possible to provide financial support for Albanian exporters through the banking system or a guarantee fund. Thus, they can finance Albanian fruit and vegetables processing companies as well as the dairy and meat industry.
On his part, Minister Jurecka promised that he will address this issue to the Czech trade bank in order to find the necessary financial instruments for lending to Albanian companies that operate in the agriculture sector.
Moreover, both sides highlighted the need for more exchanges in the field of scientific research between education institutions. The visit continued with a visit to Zetor brewery.
