Pogradec on Track to Welcome 250,000 Tourists this Summer

TIRANA, July 1

Pogradec, the city that offers endless options and possibilities of enjoyment to its visitors, is expected to welcome over 250,000 tourists during the summer season. Mayor of the city located on the shore of Ohrid Lake, Avdulla Cano said on Friday that cultural activities and guides in the most beautiful sites of Pogradec, from Lin to Tushemisht villages are going to bring more people and tourists in the city.
“We will offer to the tourists that will choose to come to Pogradec a wide range of options. Soon the city will be home to the largest promenade in Europe and the park area will expand further. Meanwhile, road traffic will be coordinated in order to give more space to pedestrians,” Mayor Cano said.
Some Euro 1.2 million were invested during this year in the lakeside city, while investments will continue in the areas of Udenisht and Bucimas.
On the other hand, the Public Health Directorate recommends disinfection for mosquito control. One of the representatives of the directorate said that vacationers reported cases of insects’ presence. Thereafter, a record has been sent to the municipality. The latter is expected to carry out disinfection within ten days.
Besides the numerous entertainment options, the visitors will not miss traditional cuisine and especially, Koran fish dishes.
