On Friday, May 20th, the Albanian Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, held a meeting with a group of EU Members of Parliament who visited Albania last week.
The high officials discussed the financial support EU will provide for Albania for several sectors and the support for the successful implementation of important reforms, such as the reform against informality and the justice reform.
After the meeting, the Minister Ahmetaj said in a press conference: “We discussed the positive economic developments of the country and the risks our economy faces. We also discussed the management of public finances since it is part of a joint reform undertaken between our government and the European Commission.”
The Minister of Finances said Albania’s economy will increase by 3.4% during 2016, due to the increase of foreign investments in many sectors such as energy, infrastructure, hydrocarbons, ect.
