The tourism industry will contribute to Albania’s GDP by ALL 17 billion in 2016, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council. This was announced by the Albanian Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Milva Ekonomi, according to which the country’s GDP for 2016 will reach ALL 323 billion.
In 2015, Albania’s GDP was ALL 306 billion and the tourism industry contributed significantly to its increase. The statistics published by the World Travel and Tourism Council are encouraging for a country like Albania which relies most on the agricultural production and tourism profits.
The World Travel and Tourism Council is an international organization of travel industry executives promoting travel and tourism worldwide.
