Joint forum between Albania and Serbia held in Durres

On May 6^th, Albania and Serbia held a joint forum in Durres city, titled “Albania and Serbia towards a common future in the European Union”. The Albanian delegation was headed by the Assembly Speaker, Ilir Meta who said this was a new era not only for Albania – Serbia relations but for the entire Balkan region.

Discussions at the joint forum focused on enhancing the cooperation between several sectors of the two countries, such as politics, economy, media, arts and youth activism.

The forum was also attended by the German Ambassador in Albania, Helmut Hoffman, according to which the EU aims to stabilize the situation in the Balkans. The joint forum was considered by the attendants as a gate to the EU integration for Albania and Serbia as well.
