On Thursday, the Kukes Municipality held a conference with the aim to present 10 priority projects for the development of Kukes. The conference was attended by the Albanian Ambassador to Prishtina, Qemal Minxhozi, the Dutch Ambassador to Tirana, Karsten Jensen, the UNDP Coordinator for Albania, Brian Williams, and other officials.
The 10 projects relate to the development of Kukes in the economic and social aspects, as well as the development of the tourism sector in the area. Speaking at the conference, the Kukes Mayor Bashkim Shehu said the implementation of development projects in Kukes need the financial support of Albania’s international partners.
At the conference, the attendants highlighted the fact that Kukes is an important connecting point of Albania with Kosovo and underlined the importance of a good transboundary collaboration. The attendants also said that Kukes has high potential for the development of the green tourism.
The UNDP Coordinator for Albania, Brian Williams, said that “Kukes is a wonderful city in the tourism aspect and the proposed projects are ambitious ones, projects that will find support for their implementation.”
