On Tuesday, the newly appointed Minister of Economic Development, Trade, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Milva Ekonomi, hosted in a meeting the representatives of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Macedonia and representatives of the 35 largest Macedonian businesses, in Tirane.
Ekonomi said that Albania is doing its best in extending the collaboration with Macedonian businesses and underlined the trust the two pairs must show in this regard. According to her, the Albanian government is focused in improving the infrastructure and the energy sector, emerging sectors which ease the activity of businesses and foreign investments in Albania.
Present in the meeting was also the head of the Albanian Investment and Development Agency, Genti Beqiri, who informed the Macedonian investors about the new tourism law approved lately by the Albanian government and about facilities for foreign investors.
According to Beqiri, some of the main reasons Macedonian businesses should invest in Albania relate to the competitive and qualified labor force, the stability of the Albanian currency and economic system, the tourism sector potential, ect.
The Albanian Investment and Development Agency and the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce will soon sign a cooperation agreement.
