Representatives from state institutions, private businesses and actors from the civic society participated in the Albanian Network for Rural Development conference on March 11th, in Tirane. The conference titled โThe Inclusion of nonpublic actors in the national rural agendaโ was attended also by representatives of international NGOs whose activity is focused in the rural development sector.
The aim of this conference was to identify and discuss the most efficient policies for the development of rural areas in Albania by the members of the Albanian Network for Rural Development. The head of the ANRD Board of Members, Sotiraq Hroni, said the creation of this network is a great achievement of the Albanian civic society, a move that will ensure the compilation of effective development policies for rural areas.
At the conference, the participants highlighted the importance of empowering the local communities as well as the civic society activity in rural areas in order to lobby for the development of these areas.
