The IMF delegation has arrived in Tirana on Wednesday, March 9th, and will stay in the country for two weeks, as announced in their last visit. The delegation headed by Anita Tuludhar held a meeting with the Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj and other Ministry officials.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Finances, the IMF and the Minister will hold discussions on the analysis of public finances’ system, the latest macroeconomic developments, the public debt management and country’s current fiscal situation.
On February 18th, the IMF Board of Directors approved the fifth and sixth loan agreements and the disbursement of the next 72.4 million EUR installment loan for Albania. Currently, the total amount of debt received by Albania to the IMF has reached 226, 8 million EUR.
During their official visit to Tirana, the IMF representatives have announced a meeting with the Bank of Albania’s Governor, Gent Sejko. The IMF delegation is expected to finalize their mission to Tirana on March 22nd and their visit will conclude in a joint press release for the media with Albanian government representatives.
