A Bank of Albania’s report on the performance of FDIs during the first 9 months of 2015 shows that the amount of foreign investments reached 721 million EUR. Based on the bank’s statistics, the amount of FDIs increased by 100 million EUR in 2015, compared to the same period in 2014. In 2014, Bank of Albania reported that the amount of FDIs reached 623 million EUR.
The increase by 15.7% of foreign investments in 2015 shows the business confidence index has increased, according to the Bank’s report.
In 2015, most of foreign investors invested in the electrical energy sector (61% of the total) while the hydrocarbons sector also attracted many investments (21% of the total). These investments include investments made by individuals and foreign financial institutions.
