India and South Korea representatives to Albania have held meetings with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto, with the aim to discuss about joint projects and investments in the transport and infrastructure sectors in Albania.
In a meeting with the Indian Ambassador to Tirana Riva Gaunguly Das, the Minister Haxhinasto declared that Albania welcomes the increase of Indian companies in Albania. Haxhinasto stressed that Albania and India have to finalize an agreement on the Maritime Transport, currently in abeyance. The Minister also identified the sectors where Indian companies can invest in, such as the further development of Ports of Durres, Vlora and Shengjin and the rehabilitation of Buna river in Shkoder.
In the meeting held with the South Korea Ambassador, Ahn Youngjip, Haxhinasto highlighted the economic potential of Albania and the need for foreign investments. He appraised the South Korea’s economic model and added that Albania offers many business opportunities for South Korean businesses. In turn, the Ambassador vowed to promote the country to South Korean businesses which are interested to invest abroad.
