The Republic of Armenia has officially opened its consulate in Tirana capital for the first time which will be represented by Honorary Consul of Armenia to Tirana, Varuzhan Piranjani. The Consul was presented in a special ceremony held at the Armenian Consulate premises under the presence of Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and Honorary Consuls of other countries, media representatives and members of the Armenian community in Albania.
In his speech, the Honorary Consul Varuzhan Piranjani said that tourism is one of the main fields where Albania and Armenia may cooperate closely and stressed the importance to enhance further the relations between the two countries. Both countries have excellent relations, according to him. Present in the ceremony was also the head of the Armenian Community in Albania, Xovasar Çakmakxhian who told a brief summary of the history of the Armenian community to Albania which settled in Albania during 1912-1913.
The opening of the Consulate will serve as the needed structure for the strengthening of relations in many fields and will help in the implementation of joint projects.
