Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko declared in a press conference that Bank of Albania has decided to keep the interest rate at 1.75% during 2016, arguing that countryโs economy is growing under its potential and the inflation rate is lower than the objective.
Despite this, the Bank foresees that Albania will experience a progressive economic growth in the upcoming two years, as quoted in a recent report released by the Bank.
During the press conference, Sejko said that lending will increase in the upcoming months and declared that lending improved during October although slightly. According to him, the Bank of Albania will continue to apply facilitating financial policies for the market by keeping a low interest rate.
