In a press conference, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry has presented a package of proposals to the government regarding the fiscal package of 2016. The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nikolin Jaka declared that “businesses nowadays are facing several problems which are hampering its development”.
According to Jaka, one of the main problems are the informality, the corruption, the high taxes and the frequent legal changes which are affecting negatively in the decrease of competitiveness and the confidence of businesses for further investments.
The package of proposals presented by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposes that in the agriculture sector the VAT should be 8%, the tax on profits 0%, the dividend 10%, the property tax 10%, ect. In the tourism sector, the VAT should be only 8%, the tax on profits 10%, the dividend 10%, ect.
Other proposals relate to the facilities the government should provide for the garment and clothing industry and for family businesses.
