In a special ceremony, the newest second tier bank in Albania named the American Investment Bank was given the license by the Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko. The American Investments Bank is the newest investment in the bank sector and was inaugurated on December 4th at the National Gallery of Arts.
Present in the ceremony where the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the USA Ambassador to Tirana Donald Lu, representatives of international financial institutions and organizations in the country, board members of the bank and other personalities.
In his speech, the Prime Minister Rama praised the presence of the American Investment Bank in Albania and declared that banks should increase lending to the economy, considering it a necessity. “I am hopeful that the American Investment Bank will become an example for other banks for attracting foreign investors,” declared Rama.
The American Investment Bank is present in Albania after buying the total shares of Credit Agricole Albania bank on October of this month.
