“Smart Balkan Forum” international expo forum was held today in Tirana capital. Participants at the forum where important actors in the energy field from balkan countries, experts and business representatives. The expo forum was also attended by the vice Minister of Energy and Industry, Ilir Bejtja who declared that the government has a plan for the financial recovery of the energy sector which aims to support Albanian companies to generate revenues and pay off the debts.
According to him, during the past two years revenues in this sector have increased at a time when the consumption level and losses in the network have been reduced significantly.
Present in the expo forum was also the General Administrator of the Electricity Distribution Operator Adrian Cela who announced that the institution he represents will start implementing a new “smart” project with the aim to improve the service quality for Albanian citizens. The new project will provide more information for energy consumers through stands in public spaces in each city. Two other important projects Cela mentioned are the establishment of electronic meters and Prepaid Cards.
