Elbasan Mayor Qazim Sejdini held a meeting with the Slovenia Ambassador to Tirana, Lea Stancic and discussed about the support the Slovenian government will provide for several projects in Elbasan city in the environment field.
After the meeting, Sejdini declared that these projects will be focused in the rehabilitation of Bradashesh field of wastes and investments in the sewage treatment by establishing a new plant, and other projects in the water supply plants and renewable energy. “This is a real project and Elbasan deserves such investment,” declared Sejdini.
In turn, the Slovenian ambassador Lea Stancic declared that Slovenia supports close collaborations with Albania, by adding that “the Slovenian government is showing interest for a successful collaboration with Albania and currently we will invest in the environmental field in Elbasan city”.
Asked about the support Slovenia will show to Albania regarding the EU member candidature, the ambassador declared that being an EU member Slovenia has showed its support for the membership of Albania since in the beginning of the membership process. “Slovenia engaged during the visa liberalization process by supporting Albania and now we fully support the country in continuing the negotiations. There have been several reforms undertaken lately but there is yet to be done,” declared Stancic.
