Traders propose cut of VAT for basket of products

The Albanian Association for the Protection of Traders and Market has proposed to the government to eliminate VAT for the basket of products. In a press interview, the head of the Association, Nikollaq Neranxi declared that the new fiscal budget of 2016 must provide a decrease of VAT for basket of products, as a measure that will affect in the increase of consumption.

According to Neranxi, the decrease or the cut of VAT for basic products would also reduce the food costs for families with low incomes.  The Association for the Protection of Traders and Market claims that the government should also cut the reference prices in Customs since this is boosting the unfair competition.

The Albanian Association for the Protection of Traders and Market is a newly established association with the aim to protect the interests of small traders and consumers.
