Japan has provided a fund of EUR 4 ml to the Albanian government which will be used to purchase hybrid cars for government officials. The fund was approved by the parliamentary Economy Commission on Wednesday. The agreement aims to reduce the pollution and gases released from vehicles which cause the greenhouse effect.
The institutions that will be equipped with such vehicles are the Directory of Governmental Services, the Agency of Offering Integrated Public Services, the Regional Environmental Agency and the National Urban Construction Inspectorate.
Hybrid vehicles are most often gasoline-burning machines that utilize their electric bits to collect and reuse energy that normally goes to waste in standard cars. The Economy Commission announced the agreement will enter in force on October 27th of this year.
