Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati has visited Israel after the invitation of World Jewish Congress and the Israel Congress of Foreign Affairs.
During his visit in Israel, Bushati, highlighted the historical connections between Albania and Israel, referring to the World War Two, a time that Albania provided a secure shelt for many jewish, protecting them from anti-Semitism of that period.
Ditmir Bushati said the potentials of Albania-Israel relations have not yet been exploited fully and that this potential has to be used in strategic fields as energy, agriculture, road infrastriucture and telecommunications.
During an important meeting with representatives of Israelβs businesses of high technology and innovation, Bushati emphasized the fiscal facilities that Albania provides for foreign investors, adding that the country needs investments in the implementation of modern technologies in the way of doing business and in the whole economy sector, as well.
Bushati also visited the Memorial of the Victims of Holocaust, Yad Vashem. He declared that Albania will never show anti-Semitic feelings and that he feels proud that Albanian people welcomed jewish people when the whole world disdained them.
