State Inspectorate of Environment and Forestry and the National Agency of Natural Resources have signed an agreement of collaboration, based on which the two institutions will increase joint efforts in implementing the legal framework for the protection of the environment and the exploitation of natural resources.
The agreement also foresees that the two institutions should collaborate in fostering and coordinating joint actions in protecting the environment and improving the natural resources by implementing with correctness the defined requirements and conditions in environmental permissions and mining permissions by subjects that operate in this field.
The head of State Inspectorate of Environment and Forestry Ergys Agasi declared that more than 50% of mining permissions released by the NANR that exercise their activity illegally. Agasi also expressed concern on the abusive actions by private subjects that operate in the hydrocarbons and hydro energetic sectors and vowed to intensify controls in order to end the abuses with the environment.
The one year term agreement signed between the State Inspectorate of Environment and Forestry and the National Agency of Natural Resources foresees that these institutions have the authority to revoke permissions issued by the NANR and to cancel subjects’ activities in cases of abuse.
