5 Albanian tourism startups / apps

Travel Massive Albania’s April event focused in the promotion of tourism startups in Albania. There were 5 different platforms that were presented to Travel Massive Albania’s audience on April 27^th. The event was held at Talent Garden Tirana, a co-working space and accelerator for startups and technology projects, part of Talent Garden international platform.

The startups that presented their features and services at Travel Massive Albania were mostly applications for Android and iOS, one audio-guide and an e-commerce site. They are as follow:

Sotours is an application that is being created by the Dajti Alpino Turistik Association in cooperation with the Tirana Municipality and will offer to its users many types of services. The app will show the tracks of Dajti Mountain for all the amateur climbers and tourists that want to explore the mountain. Its most important features include the opportunity to find businesses like restaurants, hostels, hotels or shops near your location and users will also have a button through which they can ask for help if they lose or are injured. In such case, the app is able to show to the receiver of the alert sent by the user the percentage of user’s phone battery. It also will show the nearby events created by tour guides or other climbers in the mountain. The app is still under construction but is expected to be released in the App store very soon.

Go2Pogradec.al is an online platform that shows many information about the city of Pogradec, its tourism sites and attractions, tours and businesses, places where you can sleep or buy handicrafts, ect. One of the most important features of this platform is that you can book a hotel room or a guesthouse, buy handmade traditional-themed accessories and products and other products or services.

Tung.al is an innovative idea of providing free information to tourists. Through query codes, the application aims to provide information for cultural sites, monuments and historic places. It also has a map which shows the user’s current location and the nearby tourism sites to visit.

1001 Albanian Adventures is the first and yet only audio guide platform in Albania. It provides free audio tours for tourists who want to explore Berat city. The platform provides information in 10 different languages and only for Berat city.

ShareAlbania is an application that aims to promote Albania through photos. The idea of its founders is to transform it into a social community where people who take beautiful photos in Albania can share and like each-other’s photos. The most interesting feature of this application is that it shares automatically the photos uploaded by the users in their other social profiles like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
