Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Social Welfare, Erion Veliaj held a visit in a fish processing company, financed by the “Employment Promotion Fund” direct financing scheme. “The governmental projects for boosting the increase of employment rate have started to show the expected results and this encourages us in increasing the funds for this program”, declared Prime Minister Rama.
According to him, during the first year of the implementation of the Employment Promotion Fund, the number of employed people was approximately 4000 and is expected that during this year, about 3000 people will be employed by projects funded by EPF.
“I am very satisfied and impressed by what I ascertained in this company, because this is a meaningful enterprise which reflects the excellent government – business cooperation in boosting employment,” stated Edi Rama. For 2015, added Rama, the fund for the support of such enterprises has doubled and about 700 companies are expected to apply for profiting direct investments by the government.
On the other side, the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth Erion Veliaj declared that the government will approve the new Code of Labor in the next meeting, a code that will enhance the guarantee for employees and employers in protecting their rights.
The Employment Promotion Fund provides subventions, funds, trainings and the employment of people with disabilities or professional practices for students.
