The National Registration Center has issued the latest data on the number of registered businesses during the period of January – November of this year. Based on the data released, about 38 thousand new businesses have been officially registered at the Center during this period.
The number has increased significantly compared to the same period of a year before due to the government’s reform against informality. Most of the registered businesses have been operating in the market and have avoided the registration procedures in order to avoid taxes and other obligations to the state.
On September 1st of this year, the government undertook an intensive reform against the market informality, in order to collect more taxes, a reform that was announced several months ago. On behalf of this reform, the government also decided to merge the Licensing and Registration Centers into the National Business center. The new center will offer more online services and a more professional consulting service to new businesses.
These are reforms that aim to improve the business climate in the country and increase the informality in the markets.
