Central Technical Inspectorate has undertaken lately about 5 thousand controls in fuel retail points of sale throughout the country by testing the quality of traded fuel. The inspections have detected about 220 retail points of sale trade low quality products, by not respecting the required criteria and standards.
Head of Central Technical Inspectorate, Ejana Xhixha declared after the inspection that “281 operators have been fined due to various problems in documents or subjects that do not meet the required criteria to trade fuel products.” Fines start from 100.000 ALL to 2 mln ALL or in the worst case the subject’s activity is suspended or its license is revoked by state.
In addition, 39 subjects have been proposed by this institution for license revocation and for 4 subjects the proposal for license revocation has been approved, declared Xhixha.
Chief inspector appealed to all citizens to report about all suspected fuel retail points which trade low quality products. As she stated, Central Technical Inspectorate has undertaken an intensive control campaign for every fuel retail point of sale in every part of Albania.
