The number of cruise ships visiting the port city of Durres, the biggest in Albania, from March 26 to November 6, 2016, is 29 while the last one, Albatros liner, is expected to drop anchor on November 19.
So far, they brought over 13,416 guests to Albania. The routes of these cruise ships include many destinations in the Mediterranean Sea and most of them are located on the cost of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. During their stop in Durres port, the cruise visitors go ashore in tours in the cities of Tirana, Kruja, Berat, and Durres.
On its part, Durres Port Authority took all the measures for welcoming and easing the stay of cruise liners. In the meantime, official data show that the number of cruise visitors in 2016 increased by 65 percent compared to 2015. Sea Cloud tall ship had the lowest number of visitors, only 59 while the other liners had more than 1,200 tourists.
