$15 ml investment for first yacht port in Port of Durres

$15 ml is the value of the investment for the establishment of a yacht port in Port of Durres and other buildings which will be in function of the yacht port. This was declared by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Edmond Haxhinasto on September 29^th during the signing of the concessionary agreement with Albania Bay Marine company, at the Ministry of Transport premises, Tirana.

This is a very important project for the tourism industry, according to the Minister Haxhinasto which declared: “Today we signed a concessionary contract with Albania Bay Marine which will implement the project of a yacht port in the northern part of Port of Durres. The project is very important because except from the yacht port, it will construct other facilities which will complete the infrastructure of Port of Durres. Port of Durres is an important port because along with other ports that we are constructing in Albania, will offer a variety of services in the tourism sector, particularly for marines.”

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced the construction of several other ports in Albania, as Port of Synej in Kavaja city, an investment of EUR 45 ml and the tourism port of Shengjin in northern Albania ($5 ml investment). Two important investments have been made in southern Albania in the establishment of Bunec and Orikum ports which will improve and boost the development of tourism sector in the Albanian Riviera.

Such investments in the marine sector were considered as very important signals about the country’s economy by the Minister, according to which this shows the increased interest of foreign investors to invest in Albania. These investments will also improve the standards of tourism sector in Albania and will provide employment opportunities for locals in these port areas, said Haxhinasto.
